Sherri Connell

School Success Superstar

Sherri has been an educator for the past thirty-seven years, including eight years as a high school Chemistry teacher, two years delivering coaching and professional development to Chemistry teachers, nine years as a High School administrator, and seventeen years as an Assistant Superintendent of Schools with a focus on K-12 Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, Sherri has consulted with Learning-Focused for more than five years. Her philosophy of high expectations coupled with the right support for administrators, teachers and students, has helped her and her teams lead two school districts, once struggling with student achievement, to rise to become top performing districts.

Sherri is happiest and feels most fulfilled when she is either observing classrooms, delivering or attending professional development, or talking with administrators, teachers and/or students about their learning. She believes that great leaders must be able to “walk and walk and talk the talk” when it comes to achieving district or building goals. Therefore, Sherri expects that goals are set, communicated, and everyone should be “all in” and moving in the same direction to achieve those goals.

Every school and every district have unique challenges and unique needs. Because she has work in classrooms, schools, and in a K-12 district setting, Sherri is able view district needs from a variety of perspectives. This allows her to support districts in developing specific action plans to improve teaching and learning, no matter the challenge.
